The entire seven-book saga of Rowling is a modern retelling of the myth of the New Khnum:

• the boy who lived, marked by a lightning bolt on the forehead – the exact seal a potter presses into wet clay;
• the school built beside a lake – exactly like Khnum’s workshop on the banks of the Nile;
• Harry’s wand: holly wood + phoenix feather – holly is the Celtic tree of rebirth, phoenix is Bennu, the Egyptian “self-created” bird, direct son-symbol of Khnum;
• Dumbledore = “humble-bee” – in Egyptian myth bees are the souls that fly out of Khnum’s jars when the clay vessel is finished;
• Voldemort tears his soul into pieces and hides them in vessels – a dark parody of Khnum who creates whole souls, not shredded ones;
• in the end Harry returns from the dead, defeats the one who wants to freeze the old order (Voldemort = vol-de-mort = “flight of death” = Marduk, keeper of the old cycles), and becomes the new Adam, the human of the new age.

In other words, the seven books are a myth about the re-creation of mankind by the New Potter – Khnum / Enki – against the Old King (Voldemort / Marduk).

Rowling publicly says the surname “Potter” came from neighbourhood kids she knew… yeah, sure.

That’s exactly what every true myth-weaver says when the archetype writes through them and they think it was “just an idea”.
